Error during upgrade or migration to IT Management Suite 7.5

During upgrade or migration to IT Management Suite (ITMS) 7.5, the Symantec Installation Manager (SIM) installer encounters a UnauthorizedAccessException error. Additionally, the SIM installer exits before completing the process.
Following are the processes where the UnauthorizedAccessException error could be encountered:
·         Upgrade from ITMS 7.1 or ITMS 7.2 to ITMS 7.5
·         Migration from ITMS 7.0 to ITMS 7.5
·         Upgrade from ITMS 7.0 SP5 to ITMS 7.0 MR4
You encounter the UnauthorizedAccessException error in the following scenarios:
·         During migration to ITMS 7.5
During migration, the existing migration packages that are created by SIM get assigned the read permissions. While installing the latest migration packages, the SIM installer deletes the earlier migration folders to generate a new migration package. Because the read permissions are configured to the earlier migration packages, you would encounter the UnauthorizedAccessException error.
·         During uninstallation of the solution to be migrated using SIM.
If you try to uninstall the solution to be migrated using SIM, you would still encounter the UnauthorizedAccessException error.
·         During an on-box upgrade to ITMS 7.5
You would encounter the error only if earlier migration packages are stored in the SIM installs directory, and the read permissions are assigned to the folder.
Before you start the upgrade or migration using SIM, you must manually delete the Migration Package folder on the computer where you installed ITMS, for example, C:\Program Files\Altiris\Symantec Installation Manager.
