Requirements for the Storage Provisioning Option

Do the following before you install the Backup Exec Storage Provisioning Option:

Ensure that Virtual Disk Service (VDS) 1.1 is installed on the media server.
VDS 1.1 is installed with Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 and Windows Server 2008. To install VDS 1.1 on Windows Server 2003 R2, install Service Pack 2 or the Microsoft Storage Manager for SANs management tool.

Install the storage array vendor's VDS hardware provider on the media server.
