This document is intended to provide guidance for importing known networks into the Risk Automation Suite portal prior to discovery. In addition to the network imports it allows users to pre-assign networks to their defined organizational structure.
Import Requirements
To begin the import process we recommend that you use the RAS Networkloader template to enter your network and organization structure information into. This template can provided by Symantec Risk Automation Suite Support.
After entering the require information into the template the document must be saved as a TEXT(TAB Delimited) file. All blank lines should be removed from the file, in addition to removing the headers.

If you are defining units and sub-units they must be defined within the RAS portal prior to the import. They can also be defined at a later date via the portal.
You will also need the NETLOADER app along with the DLL file. These files can be found in your Risk Automation Suite software bundle under the \Extras\Utilities directory.
Import Procedure
1. Open a command prompt as Administrator, then enter the following command from the machine that has the text file that was created earlier: c:\networkloader.exe “textfilename” (it is recommended that you run this from the RAS Portal machine).
2. You will be prompted to register the machine the first time you run the NETWORKLOADER.
Take the default on all but the when prompted to ENTER SYSTEM ID to authenticate: Enter: 999999
Also when prompted to enter the password to authenticate : Enter: heT67@qw
All other prompts should be the defaults.
3. After you have entered the above information you will need to go to the RAS portal and approve the client in order to move on to the next step. This is done by going to the PORTAL ADMINISTRATION->Client Management and clicking the approve link for your client.
Note: The import will not work if the client has not been approved. All things hilighted in yellow will be specific to your environment.
4. You will then see the following screen:

Select the fields in the correct order according to the template layout. Once the import is completed press ENTER to stop NETWORKLOADER. Networks should now show in the portal.
