Networking for Mobile Management Solution

 

The diagram below details what each component needs to communicate within the Mobile Management Solution.  The ports listed are the default ports; all ports can be changed with manual configuration of IIS, web.config, the tunnel server configuration, and the tunnel client configuration file.

 

Name resolution from the mobile device to the Mobile Management Server and Package Server is required.  You can use FQDN if it is configured for the Mobile Management Server and Package Server.

 

 

Device:

1)      Mobile Management Server – port 80 – MobileManagement virtual on IIS for bootstrapping and provisioning.)

2)      Mobile Management Server – port 80 – SymantecMobileServices virtual on IIS for inventory

3)      Mobile Management Server – port 7780 – tunnel client to tunnel server communication

4)      Package Server – port 80 – to download software package files

Mobile Management Server:

1.       Notification Server (Console) – port 80 – for posting inventory and getting provisioning policies/details

2.       Package Server – port 80 – for provisioning specific configuration files to device

Notification Server (Console):

1.       Mobile Management Server – port 7778 – remote management calls

Browser:

1.       Notification Server (Console) – port 80 – for console access

2.       Mobile Management Server – port 7778 – for remote control to device
