While creating an OpsCenter view, you can specify the access rights for that view. A view can either be public or private.
Table: Default access levels lists the default access levels for specific OpsCenter or JVB roles.
Table: Default access levels
JVB Role | OpsCenter Role | Public Views | Private Views (created by another user) |
|---|---|---|---|
admin | Security Administrator | RW | RW |
Administrator | RW | RW | |
Operator | RW | RW | |
Read-only admin | Analyst | RW | R |
User | Reporter | RW | P |
Note: | In this table, RW stands for Read and Write permission, R stands for Read permission, and P stands for Needs Permission. |
A public view can be accessed by all OpsCenter users. Similarly, any OpsCenter user like Reporter or Analyst who creates a private view, gets all read and write permissions to access the specific view. This table lists default access levels for private views created by other users.
An Analyst can by default read private views that are created by other users. If an Analyst wants to modify a private view created by another user, he needs the appropriate permission from the view owner or admin.
Similarly, a Reporter cannot access private views created by other users. If a Reporter wants to access a private view created by another user, he needs the appropriate permission from the view owner or admin.
