When running multiple versions of a product from layers, only one version is accessible.
Software Virtualization Solution (SVS)
When a file with the same name and in the same directory exists in multiple layers, only one copy of the file will be visible to the user and the system. This will be the copy contained in the layer with the highest priority or, if the priority is the same, is usually the first layer to be activated.
There are three workarounds:
- Create layers for similar products installed into version specific directories, instead of the same directory.
- Create and include a bootstrap .EXE.
- Use shell applications using SVSCmd via CMD.exe or WSH.Shell.
