RAM Server installation requirements

Symantec recommends that you evaluate your computer before the installation to verify that your computer meets or exceeds the minimum requirements.

If you use SQL Server on a remote computer, you must configure SQL Server to allow remote connections.

The minimum hardware requirements to install the RAM server module are as follows:

  • Pentium 4-compatible or faster processor

  • 512 MB of RAM or higher memory

  • Microsoft mouse or compatible device

The minimum software requirements to install the RAM server module are as follows:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with SP2

  • Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 SP1

  • Microsoft windows Server 2008 SP2 or later

  • Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0 or later

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005 SP2 or Microsoft SQL Server 2008

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 or later

You must install IIS before you install the .Net Framework. If you install the .NET Framework before IIS, then you must reinstall the .NET Framework.
