Administration Console operating system requirements for configuring FSA with clustered file servers

When you configure FSA with clustered file servers you must run the Administration Console on a computer whose operating system has the same system type (32-bit or 64-bit) as the file server cluster. Additional restrictions apply in some circumstances.

Table: Compatible operating systems for configuring FSA with clustered file servers lists the compatible operating systems for configuring FSA with clustered file servers.

General restrictions:

32-bit (x86)

64-bit (x64)

64-bit (x64)

Additional restrictions:

Windows Server 2003 x64

Windows Server 2003 x64

Microsoft server cluster on Windows Server 2008

Windows Server 2008

If you do not have an Enterprise Vault server or a standalone Administration Console on a compatible operating system, you can work around the restriction by installing a standalone Administration Console on a suitable computer. For example, you can install a standalone Administration Console on a node of the file server cluster.
