Question
What Source Code Control Systems work with Wise for Windows Installer?

Answer

Wise only tests with the environments of SourceSafe and Perforce control systems. It may be possible that Subversion will not work in conjunction with Wise for Windows Installer. There isn't a comprehensive list to provide of source control products that are compatible with Wise for Windows Installer. The source control client must be installed on the same computer as Wise for Windows Installer in order for the program to recognize it.

Also, the following registry value is used to indicate the source control system:

Key: HKLM\Software\SourceCodeControlProvider
Value Name: ProviderRegKey

If your source control product does not put down this registry key, then it will definitely not work. Note that this isn’t used just by Wise for Windows Installer; Visual Studio uses this value as well.
