Problem:

I cannot see some items that I expect to be in the search results.
The search returns results with the message “Unable to list the contents of the whole archive. Contact your administrator”.

Solution:
  1. Are all the index volumes associated with the Archive in ‘Online’ status? Search cannot operate on Offline index volumes.
  2. Does the archive contain both 32bit and 64bit index volumes? Is a wildcard used in first 3 character positions of the search term?
In this case, results will not be fetched from 32bit index volumes as this feature is applicable only on the new 64bit index volumes. For example, a 32bit indexed item has the word ‘trial’ and the 64bit indexed item has a word ‘bail’, then when you search using the wildcard ‘*ial’ only the item from 64bit indexed volume is matched and retrieved in the results.

Inclusion of the wildcard characters ‘?’ and ‘*’ in the first 3 characters positions of the search term is a new feature introduced in EV10 exclusively for searches on 64bit index volumes. Please see Search Help documents for more details.
