Deleting departments

When you have no further use for a department, you may want to delete it and all its associated objects. These objects include child departments, searches, research folders, and hotwords.

You must have the appropriate permissions to delete a department. Users with the application-wide Delete Department permission can delete any department in the system. Users with the equivalent department-specific permission are restricted to those departments in which they have this permission.

To delete a department

  1. Click the Departments tab in the Compliance Accelerator client.

  2. In the Departments pane at the left, click All Departments.

  3. In the Summary tab, click one or more departments that you want to delete.

    You can select multiple adjacent departments by holding down the Shift key while clicking the first and last department in the range. To select multiple nonadjacent departments, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking the required departments.

  4. Click Delete.

  5. Click Delete Departments to confirm that you want to proceed.
