Question
Why are some Helpdesk features not available in Internet Explorer 7.0 when using versions of Helpdesk prior to 6.0.308 (SP5)?
Answer
Internet Explorer 7.0 was released after Helpdesk 6.0.297 (SP4) was released. As a result, the vsflex8n.ocx control which is used for Helpdesk 6.x flex-grid based tables had some limitations in IE 7.0 as listed below:
The right-click feature in the flex grid tables, such as in the Worker Report Incidents table, was not available. Because of this, not all of the right-click context menu items were available including:
- View in New Window
- Edit in New Window
- Detail View
- Copy Table
- Copy
Support for Internet Explorer 7.0 was added in Helpdesk 6.0.308 (SP5). For more information on this new version, please refer to the release notes found in KB 35098.
