Checking the status of the MySQL database

If you cannot log on to the Control Center or the Quarantine, check the status of your MySQL database. The hardware on which the MySQL database runs might have been turned off improperly. The brightmail_check_db scripts run mysqlcheck to repair tables if necessary.

The brightmail_check_db.sh is in following default location:

Linux or Solaris

USER_INSTALL_DIR/MySQL/mysql*/scripts

Windows

MYQSL_INSTALL_DIR\scripts

To check the status of the MySQL database

  • Do one of the following to run the scripts:

    Linux or Solaris

    Run the following script:

    % cd USER_INSTALL_DIR/MySQL/mysql*/scripts
% ./brightmail_check_db.sh

    Windows

    Run the following command from the command line:

    cd MYSQL_INSTALL_DIR\scripts
brightmail_check_db.bat
