Changing the SmartMove configuration

SmartMove has three different values where SmartMove can be applied or not. The three values are:

Value

Meaning

none

Do not use SmartMove at all.

thinonly

Use SmartMove for thin aware LUNs only.

all

Use SmartMove for all operations.

This is the default value.

To set the SmartMove value

  • To set the SmartMove to apply to all volumes, type the following command:

    # vxdefault set usefssmartmove value

    where value is either none, thinonly, or all.
