Adding a metric to a rule

Metrics return the data that the rules need to evaluate a condition and determine the necessary actions to take.
To add a metric to a rule
In the Symantec Management Console, on the Home menu, click Monitoring and Alerting.
In the left pane, click Monitoring and Alerting > Monitor > Policies > Rule Library.
In the right pane, double-click the rule to which you want to add a metric.
In the dialog box that opens, under Metrics, click the New symbol.
In the dialog box that opens, specify the metric parameters, and then click OK.
