Administering the AMF kernel driver

Review the following procedures to start, stop, or unload the AMF kernel driver.
To start the AMF kernel driver
Set the value of the AMF_START variable to 1 in the following file, if the value is not already set to 1:
Start the AMF kernel driver. Run the following command:
AIX: /etc/init.d/amf.rc start
HP-UX: /sbin/init.d/amf start
Linux and Solaris 9: /etc/init.d/amf start
Solaris 10: svcadm enable amf
To stop the AMF kernel driver
Set the value of the AMF_START variable to 0 in the following file, if the value is not already set to 0:
Stop the AMF kernel driver. Run the following command:
AIX: /etc/init.d/amf.rc stop
HP-UX: /sbin/init.d/amf stop
Linux and Solaris 9: /etc/init.d/amf stop
Solaris 10: svcadm disable amf
To unload the AMF kernel driver
Unload the AMF kernel driver only after performing the following tasks:
Stop the agents that are registered with the AMF kernel driver.
The amfstat command output lists the agents that are registered with AMF under the Registered Reapers section. For more information about the amfstat command, see the manual page for the command.
Stop the AMF kernel driver by using the platform-specific command.
