When Inventory for Windows is running in package mode, the combination of the product name and manufacturer are used to identify unique products.
Inventory 6.1 through 6.1 SP1 default in 'Package Mode'.  Inventory 6.1 SP2 and on default to 'File Mode'.  These modes are flipped by adding or removing the /file command-line switch to the AeXAuditPls.exe command lines in the configuration INI files.
