Using the Sort dialog box

The following procedures detail how to use the Sort dialog box.

To open the Sort dialog box

  • Click View > Sort or on the shortcut menu click Sort.

To specify sort criteria

  1. The first heading item at the top of the window is the column sorted on first, the second item at the top of the window is the column sorted on second, and so on.

  2. Select the first column to sort on by choosing a column header from the Sort items by pull-down list.

  3. Select Ascending or Descending for the sort order.

  4. To sort on other columns, choose a column header from each Then by option and choose a sort order.

  5. When you are finished, click OK.
