What is the best way to reclaim a license from the clients that had the Application Metering 6.1.x Agent?
Answer
You can reclaim an Application Metering license by one of three methods.
- Uninstall the Application Metering Agent from the client (no reboot is required).
- Retire the client computer.
- Delete the client computer (resource).
If you retire or delete the computer (without unistalling the Application Metering agent), the computer should be removed from the network. Otherwise the Application Metering Agent will communicate with the Notification Server. This will reassign a license back to the client computer, even if it was deleted or retired within Notification Server.
