Status & Success Rate > Status > Job Status > Historical report

A Job Status report in red (failure), yellow (partial success) and green (success) displayed in stacked bar format that is grouped by hour, day, week, month, or year across any timeframe. The report is a count of jobs for each of the three outcomes. The simplicity of the presentation helps easily identify both positive and negative trends as well as one-off deviations. For NetBackup environments, the report can also be generated where attempts rather than jobs are counted. In NetBackup, jobs can be configured for x many attempts before a job exits with a status. The report can be filtered across a selection that includes views, backup and media servers, backup level, policies, schedules, transport types, Operating Systems, and business classifications.

The following table shows the filters for Job Status report and how you can use these filters to view specific data in the report.

Master Server

Select one or more master servers to view data for the selected master servers in the report. All master servers that are added to the OpsCenter console are shown in the Value dropdown list.

By default, Backup jobs are shown in the report. Select one or more job types like Archive, Backup, Restore etc. to view data for the selected job types.

Select one or more backup products to view data for the selected products.

Example of filter usage: You may run the Job Status report for a specific policy to view job counts for the specific policy. Further if you are interested in knowing about the job counts for specific products, you can use the Job filter and under Product Type column, select Backup Exec and EMC NetWorker.

The following report enhancements have been made for the Successful Job Count report:

  • The unit Years has been added for Relative Timeframe selection.

    You can now view data for the last x years.

  • The option Next has been removed from the drop-down menu for Relative Timeframe. You now cannot enter a relative timeframe like Next 2 weeks. This is because the report does not support any futuristic data.

  • The following options have been removed from Time Frame Group By selection:

    • Days of week Average

    • Days of week total

    • Hours of day Average

    • Hours of day Total

    • Minutes

    • Month of year Average

    • Month of year total

    • Quarter

    • Quarter of year Average

    • Quarter of year total

  • Symantec Enterprise Vault and CommVault Galaxy have been removed from the list of values for column Product Type under Job filter.

  • The following Report On options have been added under Backup Job Attributes:

    • Job Status (Complete and Partial only)

    • Job Status (Complete only)

  • The Schedule Name column is added under the Schedule filter to filter data by schedule name.

  • The report now also shows trendlines with customized average periods.

    The following option has been added:

    Show trendline with moving average period of 3. The value can be 1, 2, 3, 7, 14, or 30. The default value is 3.

    Select Show trendline with moving average checkbox and use the drop-down list to specify the number of data points to factor into the average. At each interval on the graph, the trendline shows a moving average of the most recent data points. Example: 3 displays a trendline that, at each interval, shows the average of the current data point and the two previous data points.

  • UNKNOWN has been added as a value for Policy Type column in the Policy filter. You can now filter report data for policy types that are UNKNOWN. In earlier versions of OpsCenter the unknown policy types were shown as blank. Now all static columns like job type, schedule type, policy type, etc. are shown as UNKNOWN like in VBR
