Creating a privileged NetBackup user account for EWS access (Exchange 2010)

This procedure provides an example of how to create a privileged NetBackup user account for EWS access with Exchange 2010. In a cluster or replicated environment, create the NetBackup user account on the following Exchange clients: the clients that are backed up, the clients that are used to browse for backups, and the Exchange Client Access Server (CAS).
To create a privileged NetBackup user account for EWS access (Exchange 2010)

In Active Directory Users and Computers, select the Users directory.

Right-click and select New > User and indicate a name for your new account.

Click Add and add these objects to the user:
If permissions issues persist, try adding the Domain Admins group to this account.

Configure the NetBackup Client Service log on account.

If you receive an "Access is denied" error when you perform a restore, you may need to run the following commands:
New-ManagementRole -Name SymantecEWSImpersonationRole -Parent ApplicationImpersonation New-ManagementRoleAssignment -Role SymantecEWSImpersonationRole -User Administrator SymantecEWSImpersonationRoleAssignment
where Administrator is the alias of the Active Directory account you want to use.
