Alert History options

After you respond to an alert, Backup Exec moves it to the alert history.

See Viewing the alert history for a server or a storage device.

Table: Alert History options

Item

Description

Type

Indicates the severity of the alert. The alert types are Error, Warning, Informational, and Attention Required.

Category

Indicates the condition that caused the alert. Categories include Database Maintenance, General Information, Device Error, Job Cancellation, or Job Failed.

Message

Indicates the text of the error message.

Date and Time

Shows the date and time when the error occurred.

Response Machine

Shows the name of the server from which the alert response was sent.

Response Time

Shows the date and time when the alert response was sent.

Response User

Shows the user name of the person who sent the alert response.

Job Name

Indicates the name of the job that triggered the alert. This column is blank if the alert was not triggered by a job, such as for general information alerts.

Storage

Shows the name of the storage device on which the alert occurred.

Server

Shows the name of the server on which the alert occurred.

Source

Indicates the cause of the alert.

Alerts can originate from one of the following sources:

  • System

  • Job

  • Storage

  • Media
