Does Altiris Barcode Solution support using iOS or Android-based devices, such as Apple's iPhone and iPad?

Barcode Solution is not designed to work with iOS or Android-based devices. A list of supported devices can be found here:

Barcode Solution 7.1 SP2 also supports the following in addition to the above list's devices:

• Socket Cordless Ring Scanner / CRS 9P, Bluetooth
• Motorola MC 75 / MC 75A6, Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Professional
• Motorola MC 55 / MC 55A0, Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Professional
• Honeywell Dolphin / 6000, Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Professional

Note: If the device-to-be-used is not on these lists, it is considered unsupported and may not function correctly when using with Barcode Solution.

Unofficially, Barcode Solution has been seen to work on the iOS devices, such as using the "Barcode Essentials" app, which is not provided or endorsed by Symantec/Altiris. If this is used with Barcode Solution and issues occur, the only solution that Symantec can offer will be to use a supported device instead.
