About query entities

The various categories of information within platforms that can be queried are organized as collections of records known as entities. An entity contains the fields that represent an object or a collection of objects that are specific to platforms.

The following operations use entities:

  • Configuring queries: A query definition must contain an entity, at least one field.

  • Comparing baselines from the retrieved data of two or more target computers

  • Exporting data records

Control Compliance Suite provides predefined queries, or sample queries for Windows, SQL, UNIX, and Oracle platforms.
