Error text: Spamhunter module: bad rule rule_name, def "rule_content"

Affected module: conduit, brightmail_engine

Product version: Symantec Messaging Gateway 9.5 and later versions

Explanation:

This error message may appear in conduit_log and bmserver_log. Typically, this message is an indication that the Spamhunter ruleset that is downloaded from the Symantec Web site contains invalid rule(s). Even with this error condition, the engine continues to create the rule context using the rest of the valid rules.

Possible conditions:

Incorrect antispam rule(s) has been downloaded from the Symantec Web site.

Resolution:

No action needs to be taken to address this error condition. If the rule(s) has been published erroneously, it will very soon be replaced by a valid one.
