Array Analysis (Allocated Storage Metrics) in Veritas Operations Manager Enterprise Server 5.0

The Allocated Storage Metrics are part of the Veritas Operations Manager Enterprise Server Array Analysis reporting package.

See Array Analysis in Veritas Operations Manager Enterprise Server 5.0 .

The Allocated Storage Metrics provide details about the claimed and unclaimed storage capacity that is allocated to hosts. There are two sets of metrics: Allocated Storage Metrics and Allocated Storage Metrics (Thin Aware).

Table: Array Analysis (Allocated Storage Metrics)

Metric

Description

Claimed Capacity (GB)

The amount of array storage that has been allocated to hosts and that host's OS has written a device handle to the LUN. Veritas Operations Manager calls this amount "Claimed Status: Claimed."

Unclaimed Capacity (GB)

The amount of array storage that is allocated to hosts that in which the host's OS has not written a device handle to the LUN. Veritas Operations Manager calls this amount "Claimed Status: Unclaimed."

Undiscovered Allocated Capacity (GB)

The amount of array storage that is allocated to a host which Veritas Operations Manager has currently not discovered.. Veritas Operations Manager calls this amount "Claimed Status: Unknown."

% Capacity Allocated to Hosts Claimed

The percentage of storage that is allocated to host in which a host's OS has written a device handle to the LUN. This value is calculated by dividing "Claimed Capacity (GB)" by the sum of "Capacity Allocated to Hosts Directly (GB)" and "Capacity Allocated to Hosts Through Virtualizer (GB)."

Table: Array Analysis (Allocated Storage Metrics) (Thin Aware)

Metric

Description

Claimed Capacity (GB) (Thin Aware)

The amount of array storage that is allocated to hosts (where the hosts' operating systems write device handles to LUNs), including storage from the thin LUNs' consumed size.

Unclaimed Capacity (GB) (Thin Aware)

The amount of array storage that is allocated to hosts (where the hosts' operating systems do not write device handles to LUNs), including storage from the thin LUNs' consumed size.

Undiscovered Allocated Capacity (GB) (Thin Aware)

The amount of array storage that is allocated to a host which VOM has not discovered currently, including storage from the thin LUNs' consumed size.

% Capacity Allocated to Hosts Claimed (Thin Aware)

The percentage of storage that is allocated to a host where the host's OS has written a device handle to the LUN. This value is calculated by dividing Claimed Capacity (GB) (thin aware) by the sum of Capacity Allocated to Hosts Directly (GB) (Thin Aware) and Capacity Allocated to Hosts Through Virtualizer (GB) (Thin Aware).
