Freezing service groups using Veritas Operations Manager Add-on for Veritas Cluster Server Administration 5.0

You can freeze the service groups to place it in a state in which it is active, but not monitored, not able to change state, and not able to fail over to another system. Freezing is useful for performing maintenance tasks on service groups.
The frozen service group will unfreeze when Veritas Cluster Server is restarted. You can choose to freeze the service groups persistently if you want the service groups to remain frozen until explicitly unfrozen.
You must have one of the following privileges on the service groups to perform the task:
Administrator or Operator privilege on the parent cluster host. To freeze the service groups persistently, you must have the Administrator privilege on the parent cluster host.
Administrator privilege or Operator privilege on the service groups. To freeze the service groups persistently, you must have the Administrator privilege.
Administrator or Operator privilege on the cluster host of the service group. To freeze the service groups persistently, you must have the Administrator privilege.
You can freeze only the service groups that have open configuration.
To freeze service groups
In the Veritas Operations Manager console, do one of the following to locate the service groups:

Select the check boxes to select the service groups to be frozen. Click Actions above the service groups list and select Freeze.
To freeze a single service group, right-click on the row of the service group to display the shortcut menu. In case of multiple service groups, first select the check box for each service group, and then, right-click on any of the rows to display the shortcut menu. From the shortcut menu, select Freeze.
In the Freeze Service Group page, select the check box to specify advanced options. Click OK.
In the Result page, verify that the operation was successful. Click OK.
