In Veritas Operations Manager, you must configure the virtualization discovery to let a Control Host discover the virtual servers. You can configure the virtualization discovery for VMware discovery, or HMC discovery.
The VMware discovery provides the following information:
Information on VirtualCenter servers
Information on the ESX servers that the VirtualCenter server manages
Information on the virtual machines that are configured on the ESX servers
The HMC discovery provides the following information:
Information on HMC servers
Information on the LPAR servers that the HMC server manages
Information on the virtual machines that are configured on the LPAR servers
In Veritas Operations Manager, you can use the Virtualization Configuration wizard to configure the virtualization discovery.
After you configure virtualization discovery, you can view the VirtualCenter or HMC servers, which Veritas Operations Manager discovers, in the Virtualization Management view. All ESX servers that each VirtualCenter server manages are displayed as children under the VirtualCenter server. All LPAR servers that each HMC server manages are displayed as children under the HMC server.
