How and When does the Helpdesk Synchronize with NS?

Helpdesk contact names get changed after manual updates by the Notification Server synchronization. Why does this happen and how often do the updates occur?
Changes to Helpdesk contact information do not sync from Helpdesk to Notification Server. Therefore, if you need to change Contact information permanently, it must be changed in NS. Contact data originates in NS from anything that might populate the NS, including Active Directory, user inventory, and manual imports (i.e. asset / connector).The data is synchronized on a schedule controlled under Configuration > Notification Server Settings > Incident Settings.
