Reinstalling or reconfiguring Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager

If you need to reinstall or reconfigure the management server, you can import all your settings by using a disaster recovery file. You can reinstall the software on the same computer, in the same installation directory.
The Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager creates a recovery file during installation. The recovery file is selected by default during the reinstallation process.

To reinstall or reconfigure the management server
On the management server computer, do one of the following tasks:
To reinstall the management server, uninstall the management server and reinstall the management server by using the product disc.
To reconfigure the management server, click Start > All Programs > Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager > Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Tools > Management Server Configuration Wizard.
In the Welcome panel, make sure that Reconfigure management server using a recovery file is checked, and then click Next.
In the Server data folder text field, locate the recovery file.
By default, the recovery file is located in:
Drive:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Server Private Key Backup. The recovery file is a compressed directory that is named with a timestamp. For instance,recovery_2011-04-19-15-23.ZIPFollow the instructions in each panel.
