Copying and pasting a policy

You can copy a policy and modify it if you want to keep the default policy for some of your groups or for reference. You can copy and paste policies on the Policies page. You can copy and paste policies on the Computers page. You can also copy a policy on the Policies page and then paste it on to a group in the Computers page.

Note:

You can also use the Copy the group policies and Paste the group policies tasks on the Computers page to copy all of the policies that are assigned to a group.

To copy and paste a policy

  1. In the console, click Policies.

  2. On the Policies page, under Policies, click the type of policy that you want to copy.

  3. In the policy type Policies pane, right-click the specific policy that you want to copy, and then click Copy.

  4. In the Copy Policy dialog box, check Do not show this message again if you no longer want to be notified about this process.

    To redisplay the Do not show this message again check box, click Admin > Administrators, select your administrator account, and click Reset Copy Policy Reminder.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Right-click anywhere in the white space of the policy type Policies pane, and then click Paste.
