Problem

Possible solution

Manual or scheduled scan does not work if you install Exchange Server 2007 SP3 on Windows Server 2008 R2 without installing a hot fix.

Perform the installation in the following sequence to resolve this issue:

  • Install Windows Server 2008 R2.

  • Install the hot fix that is available at the following URL:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982720

  • Install Exchange Server 2007 SP3.

  • Install Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange Server.
