To launch the SPC Windows console

1. Double-click the shortcut icon of the SPC Windows console on the computer desktop.

2. In the launched Symantec Protection Center Enterprise 3.0 dialog box, enter the following:

   • Application Server

     Enter the name of the computer on which the SPC Application Server is installed.

   • TCP\IP port

     Enter the port number of the computer that hosts the SPC Application Server. By default, the port is 1431.

3. Click OK.

To launch the SPC Windows console on a remote computer

1. On the remote computer, open a browser.

2. In the browser, type the following URL:

   http://<Computer name or FQDN name of Application Server>/SPC_Web/Downloads/Getconsole.aspx

   Note:

   If your Web site is SSL enabled you may encounter a certificate warning in the browser address bar. It will also give error while downloading SPC Windows console. To resolve the certificate error, user has to add the trusted certificate issued for this web site in the 'Trusted Root Certification Authorities store' of the local computer.    You must ensure that the software, Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 is installed on the computer that launches the SPC Windows console. To check whether the software is installed or not, click on the link, Check if .NET Framework 4.0 is installed. If the software is not installed, then click on the link, Install .NET Framework 4.0 for the appropriate platform to install it.

3. Click Download SPC Windows console to install the SPC Windows console.

4. Follow steps 1 and 2 of the procedure to launch the SPC Windows console.
