To change the key mode for Consumers, use the following steps:

1. Log in to PGP Universal Server.
2. Click Consumers and select the desired Consumer Policy.
3. On the Keys tab click Edit.
4. Click the Management tab and select the key mode you want to use and click Save.

The next time the policy is updated on clients, a message that the key mode was changed will appear and the user will be asked for the passphrase of the key (unless the key mode that was used previously was SKM).

The users will then have to enter the passphrase of the key and the keymode will be changed automatically.
 

Note: When the key mode is changed, a new PGP key is created and uploaded to the Universal Server. The previous key will be revoked. More information about the individual key modes can be found in the following article.
