Installing HSCL Pack 1 Add-on for Management Server in Veritas Operations Manager 5.0

You need to install HSCL Pack 1 Add-on for Management Server on both Management Server and the managed hosts. The add-on should first be installed on Management Server and then on the managed hosts.

To install HSCL Pack 1 Add-on for Management Server on Management Server

  1. Download HSCL Pack 1 Add-on for Management Server to a temporary directory on your computer from the following location:

    https://sort.symantec.com/vom

    The add-on is also available for download from Symantec FileConnect and Trialware sites.

  2. In the Management Server console, select Settings > Deployment.

  3. To upload the add-on to the repository, use Actions > Upload in the Deployment Management view.

  4. Select HSCL Pack 1 Add-on for Management Server and click Actions > Install.

  5. On the Install Solution panel, click Install.

    Installing the HSCL Pack 1 Add-on for Management Server automatically restarts the Web server, and logs you out. Log on again to the Management Server to use the add-on.

To install HSCL Pack 1 Add-on for Management Server on managed hosts

  1. In the Management Server console, select Settings > Deployment.

  2. Select HSCL Pack 1 Add-on for Management Server, and click Actions > Install.

  3. On the Install Solution panel, select Hosts or Platforms option to select the managed hosts.

    • Hosts: Select this option to view the list all managed hosts where the solution is not installed. If you select the Show all applicable hosts (Overwrites existing installation) option, you can see all the managed hosts where you can install the solution. It includes the managed hosts on which the solution is not installed currently and the managed hosts where the solution is already installed. For latter, Veritas Operations Manager overwrites the existing solution installation.

    • Platforms: Select this option to install the solution on all managed hosts that use the specific operating system. For example, if you select Windows in the list, the application installs the solution on all the hosts that use Windows operating system. Select Force Install (Overwrites existing installation) option to overwrite existing solution installation on the managed hosts.

  4. Click Install.
