How do users authenticate a handheld device with Barcode Solution?

Barcode Solution has introduced authentication of the handheld device. How is this done? For example, after clicking on Synchronization, I am prompted to authenticate to the Symantec Management Platform server.

Answer
Ensure that the credentials are entered into Barcode on the handheld device, such as from the Synchronize menu,  in the correct way. There are several ways of providing credentials to the Symantec Management Platform server from Barcode on the handheld device. Try each of the following types as some may work, others may not, until the correct type is found. Note: Be careful when entering the password as this is not shown in plain text and there is no password confirmation. A mistyped password (or for that matter, any of the authentication fields with incorrect values) will result in an authentication failure.

Method 1
User Name: altiris_domain_user_name
Password: password
Server: altiris_server_name.FQDN

For example:
User Name: john_smith
Password: *****
Server: Altiris71.MyCompany.com 

Method 2
User Name: altiris_domain_user_name
Password: password
Server: altiris_server_ip_address

For example:
User Name: john_smith
Password: *****
Server: 192.222.0.2

Method 3
User Name: altiris_domain_user_name@FQDN
Password: password
Server: altiris_server_name.FQDN

For example:
User Name: john_smith@Altiris71.MyCompany.com
Password: *****
Server: Altiris71.MyCompany.com

Method 4
User Name: altiris_domain_user_name@FQDN
Password: password
Server: altiris_server_ip_address

For example:
User Name: john_smith@Altiris71.MyCompany.com
Password: *****
Server: 192.222.0.2

Method 5
User Name: domain_name\altiris_domain_user_name
Password: password
Server: altiris_server_ip_address
