How is it possible to use DeployAnywhere hardware independent imaging in a Run Script task?

If the DeployAnywhere Run Script task will follow a Distribute Disk Image task, you will need to modify the Distribute Disk Image task so that it does not attempt to run DeployAnywhere or reboot into Production Windows before your Run Script Task.

  1. Modify the Distribute Disk Image task.
  2. Under the Configuration Options, disable the option "Boot to production to complete configuration task"
  3. Under the Configuration Options, disable the option "Use DeployAnywhere hardware independent imaging"

Now you can create a Run Script task to launch DeployAnywhere.

  1. Create a new Run Script task.
  2. Paste the following into the "Run this script" text box:
    del %SystemRoot%\inf\atrsdfw.inf"
    copy %ALTIRIS_SHARE%\Ghost\SMEUTIL.SYS %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers
    GhDplyAw32.exe /target=c:\windows /ddb=\driversdb

  3. For "Choose the script operating system", select Windows.
  4. Click Next.
  5. For "Script Run Location", select "On the client computer"
  6. For "Client Run Environment", select Automation.
  7. Make sure the Automation option is the same as the one that your Distribute Disk Image task is using.
