Question
How does a Package Server download a replicated package?
Answer
The child Package Server sends a GetPackageInfo request to its local NS. The local NS notices that the requested package is replicated and sends the Package Server a redirect URL to the GetPackageinfo.aspx page on the Parent NS. The child Package Server directly contacts this page on the parent NS, and is returned ready Package Server sources which are in the same Site as the parent NS.
If no Package Servers in the same site as the NS are ready with the package at the parent NS, then no sources are returned to requesting Package Server.
Note: The child Package Server will not be returned ready Package Server sources which are within other sites besides the parent NS site.
