Question
How do I prevent undesired updates from being available in the Manage Software Updates Page?

Answer
Drill down on Console 6.5 to View > Solution > Patch Management > Configuration Folder > Server Settings > Global Settings > Patch Management Core Solution > Resource Exclusions.

  • Select the edit 'Exclude Software Releases'
  • Select any undesired software update types to be excluded in the popup window
  • Select 'OK' in the lower portion of this window

The Selector Window will be present and display the selected update types to be excluded. The list can be populated further by selecting the blue plus symbol on the tool tray, and also depopulated by highlighting the update type and selecting the X symbol in the tool tray to delete it from the list.

Select Apply at the bottom of the Patch Management Core Solution when ready to confirm exclusions.

Note: Exclusions can be set up after Bulletins have been Staged/Tasked; however, the Microsoft Patch Management Import and the Revised Software Update Task (configurations for these are outlined on KB 43063) will need to complete to clean up the current environment to exclude these update types.
