This document discusses how to use the Alert Management System (AMS2) to send a broadcast to your network regarding an event.
The Broadcast feature within AMS2 is used to allow NetWare servers to broadcast the alert to all the NetWare clients currently attached to it. This feature does not send a network broadcast from a Windows-based system.
The computer causing the Broadcast action must be either the NetWare server itself, or a NetWare client attached to that server.
If you want to send a broadcast from a Windows-based system, you can use the Run Program feature, rather than Broadcast to launch the program "net" with the argument "send" and any other details necessary to display the "net send" command on those computers of your choice.
For more information on Microsoft's "net send" command, see the net send document in the Microsoft knowledge base.
