You want to know whether you can configure Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition to use a different location for its log files.

 


Solution



The location of the log files is hard-coded into the program and is not configurable during installation or through the Symantec AntiVirus interface. All versions of Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition store some log information in each user's profile on Windows NT/2000/XP/2003-based systems (for example, C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Symantec\Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition\7.5\Logs). See the section below that applies to your version of Symantec AntiVirus for information on where other log data is stored.

Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.x
For Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.x, the default location for each supported operating system is as follows:

  • Windows 2000/XP/2003
    %SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition\7.5\Logs
  • Novell NetWare
    SYS:SAV\Logs


Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 9.x
For Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 9.x, the default location for each supported operating system is as follows:

  • Windows 2000/XP/2003
