This page describes how to install Symantec Client Security 3.x clients or Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.x clients without E-Mail Auto-Protect plug-ins.

Solution

Before you begin: The Internet Email Tools component does not install onto Windows servers during a Symantec AntiVirus 10.0.2 or later client installation. You do not need to perform a custom installation to exclude the E-Mail Auto-Protect plug-ins when you install Symantec AntiVirus 10.0.2 or later client onto a Windows server.

Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.0 clients and servers install and deploy using Windows Installer (.msi) packages. Standard Windows Installer switches and Symantec-specific parameters can be used to customize the installation if you use the command line to deploy packages. For additional information, refer to the document Windows Installer (.msi) command line reference for Symantec Client Security 3.0.
