This document describes how to remove Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.1/10.0 server and AMS from a NetWare server.

Solution

You should first attempt to uninstall Symantec AntiVirus using the Automatic Uninstall method. If this method fails, or if you need to completely remove Symantec AntiVirus, then use the Manual Uninstall method.

Automatic uninstall
You can automatically uninstall Symantec AntiVirus using the VPSTART command.

To automatically uninstall Symantec AntiVirus
  1. Unload the Symantec AntiVirus NLMs by pressing Alt+F10 at the Symantec AntiVirus console
  2. Type the following at the console prompt:

    UNLOAD VPREG.NLM

  3. Type the following at the console prompt:
    LOAD SYS:SAV\VPSTART /REMOVE

Notes:
  • If you have manually loaded Vpreg.nlm, then you must manually unload it to use the automatic uninstall method.
  • The automatic uninstall method does not remove AMS.
