If the problem persists, read Error: "An error occurred while trying to access the database" while installing Reporting Server.

Technical Information
This problem typically happens in one of the following situations:

  • You did not set up an alias correctly on the Reporting server.

For help with the Reporting Server installation, read the "Installing Reporting" section of the Symantec AntiVirus Installation Guide (savinst.pdf) or the Symantec Client Security Installation Guide (scsinst.pdf).
