New features or components fail to install on the Symantec Endpoint Protection client when installing a package with the same build version with new features or components selected on top of the same build

New features or components do not install or are not added on clients when installing a package of the same build version over the top of an existing installation matching the same version even if the package was created differently to include the features or components.


The installer is not designed to function this way. If the client is managed, you can simply change the features in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager console and assign these changes to the group(s). The features will change on the client without exporting a client package. If the machines are unmanaged, you can simply make the changes needed via add/remove programs because the package is cached locally on the client. This is working as designed.
