How to disable the "Fix" button notification after turning off email scanning in Symantec Endpoint Protection.

Symptoms
Client user interface displays "Outlook Protection is disabled.
  • The circle and slash icon is displayed on top of the System Tray shield icon.


Solution



When "Email Protection" is disabled in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) policy or in the Symantec Endpoint Protection client user interface, the following error message will appear:



The way to disable the "Fix" button and notification is to create a policy that turns this feature off in the SEPM and then lock the feature.

The alternative is to uninstall the email tools via "Add/Remove Programs."

Note: It is important to remember to lock the option in the SEPM or else the error notification will remain.
