Issue



Why is Proactive Threat Protection showing "Waiting for Updates" or stating "Invalid OS" in the logs?

Symptoms
The Status page of the Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) client shows that Proactive Threat Protection (PTP) is Off and the Definitions status is: "Waiting for updates".




The Proactive Threat Protection System Log displays the description stating: (Invalid OS)


Solution



The issue has been resolved in Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 Maintenance Release 3. For information on how to obtain the latest build of Symantec Endpoint Protection, read Obtaining an upgrade or update for Symantec Endpoint Protection.
