When attempting to install Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 via Group Policy (GPO), the GPO applies if Symantec AntiVirus is not installed but does not apply if Symantec AntiVirus is installed and Tamper Protection is enabled.
GPO installation does not apply when Symantec AntiVirus is installed and Tamper Protection is enabled.
Symantec AntiVirus Tamper Protection does not allow GPO to apply.
To work around this problem, disable Tamper Protection on the affected computers. For directions, read "Using Tamper Protection in Symantec AntiVirus 10.x and Symantec Client Security 3.x." at URL: "http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-security.nsf/docid/2005033111081548"
