After installing Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 on a Windows 2003, 2008 or 2008 R2 server you notice that network shares appear to become inaccessible after some period of time.

Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 is installed on a Windows server with the Antivirus and AntiSpyware components only. After some time, shares on the server are no longer accessible - you may see a message such as: "The specified network name is no longer available". Other network connectivity, such as ping or Remote Desktop may still work.
