You have a network that includes computers that work in English and non-English character sets. You need to know whether this will affect the way Symantec Endpoint Protection communicates on your network.

Solution

  • Can Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager manage clients in another language?
Yes. Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager can manage clients in any language. Because clients request specific content updates from the server, they always receive the correct language updates.

Yes. None of the updates that can be provided by the Group Update Provider are language-specific.

  • Can Symantec Endpoint Protection Management servers that run in different languages connect to the same database?
No. All Symantec Endpoint Protection Management servers that connect to the same database must be in the same language.

  • Can Symantec Endpoint Protection Management servers that run in different languages replicate?
No. Symantec Endpoint Protection Management servers must run in the same language in order to replicate with each other.
